Meditation To Promote Peace

Allow yourself the time to meditate daily. This meditation is meant to promote a peaceful mindset.
Find a comfortable place to relax. You can sit upright or lie down, whichever is best for you.
Close your eyes and take in a slow, deep breath for a count of eight. Fill your belly with air, then your chest. Hold at the top for a count of four, then release for a count of eight. Focus on your breath. Then breathe deeply, but at your own pace.
Visualize a soft, glowing light surrounding you, creating a sense of peace. Feel the warmth of the light and let it gently wash over you, relaxing every muscle as it cascades from your head down to your feet. It feels like you’re receiving a tender hug.
As your body relaxes, and you continue to breathe deeply, let the thought of peace flow out of your breath. As you inhale, think or say, “I am relaxed.” On the exhale, think or say, “I am at peace.”
Breathe in, “I am relaxed.” Exhale, “I am at peace.”
Repeat this meditation as many times as you need to find your peace.
