Are You Ready?

The idea for this post came to me as I was drifting off to sleep. I am almost finished reading Goals! How to Get Everything You Want – Faster Than You Ever Thought Possible, by Brian Tracy. I have a few of his audiobooks and used to listen to them when I commuted to and from work, or just while driving in the car. At the time, I thought I was listening to what he said, but it didn’t sink in. Now that I’m reading his book, it all seems to make sense. I don’t think I was ready for the information from the CDs.
That’s the thing about life; we can only process what we’re ready to handle. Remember when you were learning something and it seemed so difficult, like you could never grasp it, and then, after some time, you finally got it? We must be prepared for the information. In my experience, our minds must be on the same wavelength for change to occur.
So, with that in mind, are you wondering how you become ready? Are you ready for the life of your dreams? There are simple ways to prepare for the next step into happiness.

The Steps to Take to Be Ready for What You Want
(They’re baby steps that anyone can do!)
~ One ~
Get into the mindset that you already have what you want. I know, I know, it’s hard to do when you’re struggling (gosh, I know) and believe you already have it. But it’s easy to do. We used to do stuff like that all the time when we were kids, and we didn’t think twice about it. When Christmas was coming up, we dreamed of the toys we wanted, and if we were sure Santa was going to bring them, we got them. The more we thought about it, the more it seemed to happen.
~ Two ~
Breathe and calm down. I’ve been the biggest worrier, and it hasn’t gotten me anywhere. Until I learned how to breathe and focus on the breath to calm myself, I couldn’t be productive. I was scattered, and so are you if you’re always buzzing around frazzled. The way to be ready for anything is to be prepared. Calming our thoughts helps us figure out what we need to do to be ready.
~ Three ~
Accept yourself for who you are today. When we think we’ll be ready once we’ve lost fifty pounds or read ten more books, we’re missing out on appreciating who we are right now and believing we’re ready just as we are.
~ Four ~
Give yourself credit for what you’ve already accomplished. Focus on the good things you’ve done and stay at that frequency. Then, you’ll attract more of the good stuff and be ready for what you’ve been wanting.
~ Five ~
Be selective about who you allow into your life, and keep goals and dreams to yourself until they come to fruition. This way, we won’t have to listen to opinions that differ from ours. All it takes for your brilliant idea never to see the light of day is sharing it with a negative person. That could cast doubt and make you second-guess whether you’re ready to take the necessary steps towards making your dreams a reality.
Some people mean well and try to impart their wisdom or experience on us, especially when it’s someone we trust or look up to. However, we must live our lives, no matter what that looks like. Just because someone else may think our idea won’t ever materialize, doesn’t mean we have to believe it. Trust in yourself. You know the right answers.
We Can Make Ourselves Ready for Anything!
Fear is the number one mindset that holds us back. We have to face our fears and do it anyway. Is it terrifying to do so? Oh yeah. But that’s the only way we’ll grow and be ready for what we dream about. Fear is nothing more than learned thoughts; most of them weren’t meant for us to think, but we did.
I used to be concerned about making a mistake and looking foolish. However, that mindset didn’t help me live my life. It kept me stuck.
Let’s put on our big guy or gal pants, face whatever freaks us out, and do something that makes the fear go away for good. We can make ourselves ready by doing the things we think we can’t do. Take baby steps. Write them down. Check them off. Be on your way.
Thank you for reading this. I hope it gave you something to think about. Please let me know if the tips I’ve offered can help you make your dreams come true.
To being ready,
Francesca
